Cancun in Mexico is the top vacation spot in the world and a favourite among student travellers. The heavenly white beaches and the deep blue waters make Cancun an irresistible lure. Cancun is a place that students in US, visit in thousands and there are others who are planning to visit. Cancun proudly boasts of over 150 hotels, but this number seems insufficient when thousands of student travellers are looking to board a room. To avoid this frenzy, it is better to plan your Cancun well in advance.

Spring breakers are not the only ones looking for an enjoyable time in Cancun. There is also a hoard of vacationers arriving daily. There are 380 restaurants in Cancun to cater to this huge deluge of visitors. There is a hotel zone in Cancun. It would be best if you could find hotels that are closer to the beach. Lodgings can range from cheap, moderate to very expensive. For entertainment there are theme parks and shopping malls. An unexpected thrill that can be enjoyed here is swimming with dolphins.

The Jet Ski jungle tours and boat excursions can be availed of on the other side of the island. During spring break the temperature can range from 88 degrees to 77 degrees from day to night. The lethargic travellers can daydream and laze around on the soft beaches while the more activity inclined can explore the Mayan archaeological sites at Cancun. Cancun is a thrilling and heavenly destination for a holiday but there are some safety precautions that you need to take care of. Unfortunately, kidnappings are a common occurrence in Mexico.

Travelling to Mexico alone is a high risk. You would be much better off travelling with a group of friends. Travel in groups when you leave your hotel zone. Some areas near the hotel zone are shady and are considered unsafe. Be sure to tell your roommates where you are going and never leave alone. Don't invite strangers to your room that you've just met and don't go to anyone's rooms either. Find out the safety precautions at your hotel in advance and take care that your cell phone is charged at all times.

Carry the contact numbers of your friends, police and hotel security with you. It is naive and dangerous to consider that anything will not happen to you. The best advice is to take all precautions necessary and be aware of your surroundings as acutely as possible.
